Life At The Lower Levels Of Pro Baseball

If you have not been scouted or previously drafted, nor were you an award-winning player in your college baseball conference, odds are that you are not on many lists of pro baseball scouts and coaching staff members.  This, however, doesn’t mean that you can’t make a pro baseball team.

The odds are against you, so you likely will have to start out in the independent leagues.  One of the lower level leagues (in terms of pay and amenities) is the Pecos League.  In 2014 Fox Sports 1 had a six-episode documentary on the league, featuring the 2013 Trinidad Triggers team.  Here are some clips from each episode so that you have an idea of where you might need to start if you were to play in the Pecos League or another lower-level independent professional baseball league to start your career.
