Frontier League Tryouts Player Evaluations

Here is something you don’t often see regarding pro baseball tryouts.  These links lead to the evaluations made by Frontier League coaching staff members of the players and pitchers who attended the April 2013 tryout run by the league.

You can see the notes made in the far column by the evaluators including phrases like “lefty specialist” and “cut on his FB”.

This is something you need to understand when you attend some of the more advanced minor league baseball tryouts.  You may be scored on the “20-80” scale or some other scale; but at least you can see how evaluators mark the talent at these open camps.
